Pinspired Challenge #16

Good morning!  Hope everyone is adjusting well to the back-to-school (and back to mommy routine) time of year!

I love today's inspiration photo, and I hope you do too. But before we get to that, the sponsor for this challenge needs no introduction, for it is the fabulous Ellen Hudson online store!  SWEET!  The winner of this Pinspired Challenge will be receiving a $25 gift certificate to the store, so you will definitely want to play along with us. (And we made it super easy for you with the awesome inspiration pic!)

And here's my take on it:

I (like a lot of crafters I've seen lately) am LOVING wplus9's Fresh Cut Florals.  There is so much that can be created with this set--I need lots of time to practice, for sure.  This was my second card with the set/dies and and while a little wonky due to user error, I love it, and love that there are so many awesome things to be created once I get the hang of it!

Now, go link up!! You don't want to miss a chance at this prize!

Lawnscaping Challenge #64: Distress Maniacs!

Good morning!  What a wonderful early fall morning to be coming to you with the brand new Lawnscaping Challenge: Distress Maniacs!  I have to say, my card today is my favorite that I've made in a long time!  (Thanks to Summer Card Camp 2 for inspiring me to break out my Distress Inks again!)

Today's challenge is sponsored by Lawn Fawn, who will be giving the Queen of Green her choice of free stamp set!  Love!

So, if you'll remember, for the last challenge, I created a one layer card using a Distress Ink background with hearts die cut from the background.  Well, after I looked at the pretty die cut hearts, I knew I couldn't throw them away, they were too pretty......so, out of them was borne this challenge card!

So, after starting with the Distress Ink hearts, I grabbed the coordinating inks, a scrap of watercolor paper, and made this cool panel.  SO. MUCH. FUN.  I popped it up on foam dots and added a sentiment from Many Thanks.  And there you have it.  A card made from pretty scraps. :)

I can't wait to see what you link up!  Be sure to check out Lawnscaping's blog for inspiration from the amazing DT, and also "like" them on Facebook to get to see the Facebook Inspiration Team's projects throughout the week.

Pinspired Challeges 15: Kiwi Lanes Designs

Good morning!  I'm so excited to open this Pinspired Challenge, sponsored by Kiwi Lane Designs.  I've used Kiwi Lane templates, and love how easy a card comes together with pretty layers using the templates.

The fabulous folks at Kiwi Lane are offering a $25 gift code to our Pin Perfect winner, so let's get started on the challenge!  Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's my take on it:

I used Lawn Fawn's Daphne's closet papers, vellum, and Kiwi Lane's Tiny Brackets template set. The background came together pretty quickly, and I like the classy look of the layered brackets.

Be sure to stop by Kiwi Lane's facebook page and tell them you are a friend from Pinspired, and check out their sweet shop here.  Then, get creating for this challenge!  I can't wait to see what you link up!!

A fun layout

Hi, guys!  Just wanted to share a fun layout I made a couple of weeks ago while having some scrappy time with a friend.  It's so awesome to just get together and create sometimes with no preconceived notions of where you are going to go, just a kit of cute products, some scraps on your desk (or maybe that's just me), and your super awesome 90's station on Spotify.  And here's what said scrappy time yielded:
I scrapped a great memory from this summer: my parents came out to visit, and we all made tie dye shirts outside.  It was a scorcher, and Fiona was strapped to my back in the Beco, but we managed to make some AMAZING tie dye creations, and I LOVE that we have souvenirs of such a fun family activity.  We had to get a pic of all of us in our homemade finery, so the hubster snapped a pic of all of the kids gleefully yelling.

I used July's Gossamer Blue kit, as well as some old enamel dots from the first Studio Calico card kit, and some older Elle's Studio bits from an old GB kit.  I LOVE that wood plank background by Elle's Studio.  SO PERFECT.

Love all of the Fancy Pants bits and bobs too.

Thanks for taking a peek--summer isn't over yet-there's still time to make some great tie dye creations yourself!

Ribbon Carousel Challenge: Summer fun

Good morning!  This morning, I'm bringing you a layout for this month's Ribbon Carousel Challenge: Summer Fun!!  I was so excited by this month's theme, and thought about making a card, but I had so many AWESOME pics to scrapbook from our recent summer vacation, (and a fun Gossamer Blue kit to use), so I couldn't help myself--I had to make a layout!

I added lots of dimension using foam tape, twine from We R Memory Keepers, and flair buttons.  I love this sweet picture of my little guy fishing in his tie-dye shirt he made himself.  What's says summer more than fishing and tie-dye??!!

I can't wait to see what you create and link up to the challenge--the prize is a FABULOUS RIBBON CAROUSEL!!  What an awesome prize!

Lawnscaping Challenges: One Layer

Wahoo!!  Is everyone enjoying the end of summer? I've been operating under the assumption that summer will last forever, so I haven't done any back-to-school shopping for the kids....I'm in denial.  BUT, today I'm totally excited to be bringing you a card for the most excellent Lawnscaping Challenges: a one layer card.

This challenge is sponsored by the ever-so-awesome Simon Says Stamp, who is gifting the Queen of Green with a $25 credit to their store!  Suh-weet!

One layer cards can be quite a challenge: no embellishments, twine, or fun patterned papers, so you have find creative ways to keep it interesting.  I was going to go the route of creating a little scene with lots of masking, but I had been dying to play with my Distress Inks and was inspired by a video by Kristina Werner in Summer Card Camp 2, so I went ahead and made a Distress Ink background, used a simple sentiment stamp, and mimicked the stamp with my faux stitched border.  Then I used my hearts Lawn Cuts dies to cut out little hearts on the card.  I feel like there's still lots to look at even though it's one layer!

Be sure to play along and link up your fabulous one layer card over at Lawnscaping, and be sure to "like" them on Facebook as well, so you can see all of the creations made by the lovely Facebook Inspiration Team!!
