Pinspired Challenges #12

Twelve? Really? I can't believe it, but we are open our 12th Pinspired challenge today!  I have had so much fun designing with the inspiration photos for this challenge, and I hope you've had fun playing along.  And if this is your first challenge with us, then woohoo!  I look forward to seeing what you create!

This challenge is sponsored by SP & Company stamps, who you'll likely remember from our last challenge.  Samantha designs some really cute photopolymer stamps that release on a monthly basis, so there's always something new to try.  And she's generously offered the Pin Perfect winner of this challenge 2 in-stock stamp sets of the winner's choosing!  How awesome!

Here's the inspiration photo:

And here's my take on it:

I saw the grassy green, the red accents, and the gold elephant on the table, and thought of making a classy thank you card.  I am in the process of organizing my craft room, and found that I don't have a lot of thank you cards made in advance, and they are always good to have on hand.  I inked up my new Avery Elle Modern Leaves set, embossed in gold, used some reddish/cantaloupe ink, and finished off with some natural twine to go with the outdoorsy-ness of the inspiration pic.

I can't wait to see what you link up!

Exciting news!

I have been chomping at the bit to get to blog this, so here it is---YAY!!  I am a member of the brand spanking new Lawnscaping Facebook Inspiration Design Team!  This is SO. STINKIN. EXCITING for me--I LOVE Lawnscaping Challenges and their DT is so inspiring to me, so the chance to design for them is so exciting.  The Facebook Inspiration Team is a new team for Lawnscaping that will be sharing our creations on their Facebook page to help pump people up for the current challenge (and we'll be on the blog monthly, too.)  If you aren't already a fan of Lawnscaping on Facebook, go here to "like" them--so you can check out what our team has to bring for each challenge.  Yay!

And I have to mention the awesomeness of my other teammates.  I am so excited about every member of this team, led by Jenn Shurkus.  I have been so inspired by the creations that they've been linking up in past challenges, and am so excited that we get to do this together! Check the full list out here, and go follow them!

We R Memory Keepers Guest Designer!

This is seriously surreal for me.  I am so excited to be sharing my projects with you for my stint as guest designer for We R Memory Keepers!  I absolutely love We R, and own so many of their tools and cute paper lines.  I about fell off my computer chair when I read the sweet email asking me to "be their guest".  :)

I also did a happy dance when I saw that I would be working with their Happy Campers line!  With three boys and a man in the house, I am always on the look out for good boy paper lines, and this one has it all.  So versatile, cute, and fun to work with!

First, I made this layout.  My older boys went camping recently with Dad, so I had some new action pics of them to use.

Next, I was inspired by the cute "who wants s'mores?" chipboard sticker, and made this fun gift box full of s'mores ingredients.  How fun would this be for a camping party favor? Or even an outdoor wedding favor?  I used my Cameo to cut the template using Happy Camper papers, and cinched up the plastic bag of marshmallows using We R Baker's Twine.

And last, but not least, my mini book project that is featured on the We R blog today.  I used my Cinch, We R book board, and the Happy Campers paper to make a little notebook for my kids to take on camping trips this summer.  It's got some great little games and observation sheets in it, as well as some blank pages so that they can draw pictures of things they see on their hikes.  Full instructions on how to create one of your own can be found on the We R blog!

Many, many thanks to We R Memory Keepers--I truly had a blast creating for you, and you have been amazing to work with.  If you haven't already, go check them out here, and like them on Facebook, and tell them I sent you!

Pinspired Challenge 11

Good morning!  So happy to be coming to you this warm June morning to share Pinspired's 11th Challenge! (Wow!)  I have a special affinity for the inspiration photo--it's lotsa purple (my favorite color) and lotsa flowers! (I LOVE flowers)  Let's get to it!

Our sponsor for this challenge is SP & Company, a photopolymer stamp company that offers monthly subscriptions.  For this challenge, Samantha is offering up a generous $20 gift certificate to the SP & Company store!  Suh-weet!!

Isn't it gorgeous?!!  I love that pop of yellow from the pergola.  Here's my fun take on it:

I was inspired by the fabulous Jennifer McGuire and how she uses the teeny little stamps that I often are not sure how to use to fill up the space.  It's hard to see, but I added some Stickles to the insides of some of the flowers to add some shimmer.

I can't wait to see what you come up with for this challenge!!

Scrapbook Steals Blog Hop!

Good morning all!  I'm so pleased to be a part of the Scrapbook Steals blog hop this weekend.  You should have arrived here via the fabulous Misty Buck.  I love Scrapbook Steals, and have been a long time customer, and fan of their awesome customer service and super fast shipping times.  Today's steal is American Crafts DIY Thickers, and they were so much fun to work with!

First, I created this card using the mistable Thickers.  I knew they would react well with mists, but wondered what would happen if I used alcohol markers on them instead.  It worked like a charm.  I used three Copics in varying shades of salmon to create an ombre effect for the sentiment on this card.  (other stamped images by Lawn Fawn.)  They really took the color well and were easy to blend on!

Next, I used the DIY Adhesive Thickers, and made an ombre glitter sentiment by using three different shades of silver glitter.  SO. FUN.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Before you leave, be sure to leave a comment here on this post--one random participant will be chosen to receive a $20 gift code to Scrapbook Steals!

Next stop on the hop is the awesome Brenda Smith!

Ribbon Carousel Challenge: Fun in the Sun

Good morning!  I'm so glad to be bringing you some inspiration for another Ribbon Carousel Challenge!  This month the theme is "Fun in the Sun"--what a great theme for June!  Here's what I came up with:
I used some old Echo Park, and new Lawn Fawn papers for the background and paper piecing, as well as a button by American Crafts from last month's Gossamer Blue kit.  And of course we can't forget the Twinery Twine!  I was SO. EXCITED. to use one of my new Lawn Fawn sets for this card--I thought of it as soon as I saw the challenge theme.

I hope you are inspired to create something awesome for the challenge!  You'll definitely want to participate, because there is a Ribbon Carousel up for grabs for one lucky participant.  I can't wait to see what you create!
